There are sooo many fantastic taco places in Austin, and while this spot is worth a visit, I wasn't hooked like some of the other taco joints in town. Nothing bad but not entirely memorable, either. People here are very nice--it has a laid back atmosphere.

NOT GOOD! There are 200 other taco places that are better than this place. Very bland! VERY VERY oilly!! My barbacoa taco had a steady stream of oil leaking out of it, all I could taste was oil it was disgusting. We have eaten at a hundred taco places around texas and this was the worst. Everything is very heavy handed. Gordita bread is so heavy and dense. Just very bland, oily, and heavy. Had a lot of promise - but failed miserably, good atmosphere - kinda loud though and crowded. Also expensive considering other taco places that are better. Will not be going back. Do not recommend

We hit Maria's during our X-Country road trip two years ago. The decor is way cool, and the tacos were pretty darned good, too! Fresh carne asada, nice shredded chicken -- if we could have done it, we'd have finished ten tacos each!

Worst triple d place I've been to! The tacos had so much grease in them, I couldn't pick one up without grease running out the other end. Tried the al pastor, and I think there was one tiny piece of pineapple in it- nothing like it looked on tv. And did I mention the grease?

I've only been for breakfast. The tacos are average and definitely not worth the wait in line. Inadequate seating as well. Save your time and money and go to one of the many Taco Shack locations in Austin if you are looking for breakfast tacos.

We ate there 21 Aug 10. The food was good, I had the Al Pastor and the wife had some type of platter. The meat on the platter was a little tough, the Al Pastor was good. Service was good, the staff was very busy.

i dragged my daughter there when i was visiting from michigan. i read about this place and decided that i just to try it when i was in austin, and am so glad i did. my mouth is watering just thinking about it. what a great atmosphere. the menu is fabulous, and so many choices. i would definately visit more frequently, but i live 1500 miles away.

Unimpressed with the menu and food was average. Some items high price and Magnolia Cafe a better buy and food

Maria's was great! Nice people, great food! That huge hula dancer statue was off the hook. Try the al pastore, Guido was right in one!
