The Shaved Duck

The fries were awesome. I loved the burnt ends and meatloaf. Service was slow and the place was packed.

The fries are amazingly delicious! I will go back just to eat those but won't be bothering with eating dinner there. Whatever the sauce is on those suckers is sooo good and there was a generous amount of it for the money. The rest of the food was pretty average. I ordered the two meat plate with pastrami and pork. I really couldn't distinguish any taste difference between the two, the both just tasted smoked. They were also a dull brown color, both of them, no smokey pink color. I had the caramelized onion mashed potatoes as my side which didn't really taste homemade or like anything special. My husband ordered the chicken. The white meat was very dry and again, it just tasted like smoked generic meat. The other funny thing, they claim to have a white bbq sauce. My husband got a side of it with the fries. He tasted it and said "this tastes familiar but I can't put my finger on it." It was the consistency of water, not thick at all. I tasted it and immediately tasted a bit of citrus or lemon and said "Taste like slaw dressing." Lo & behold, we got a tiny side of slaw with dinner- THAT WAS IT! hahahahah I wouldn't really call that BBQ sauce. Nice try though.
