Our first DDD disapointment. My husband and I over the last 7-8 years have visited dozens of DDD locations during our travels and John Mulls was the first flop we've encountered. The staff were all wonderful (very friendly and helpful) but the food left much to be desired. The mac & cheese was the only redeeming item in our combo of brisket, ribs and chicken. The BBQ sauces were OK, but we've had much better. The worst part was the belly aches we were left with for the rest of the day, not to mention the constant burping of bad BBQ.

The meats in this place are unbelievable! Everything from pork bellies to oxtails (BIG ONES!), real prime ribs (Which you DO pay dearly for, but it's the real thing.) I've never bought anything there that wasn't absolutely first class. As for the barbecue, the food is very good if you're taking it out. But they've really made absolutely no attempt at creature comfort for the customers who eat on the premises. This is particularly true in the summertime, where the crude benches are placed in an open area under the 110 degree sun. If you want top flight meats, or really good barbecue to take out, this is the best place in town. But unless you want to combine your meal with a tanning salon type experience, maybe you'd be better off going to a more hospitable location.

MMMMmmmmmmm. Not so much. About average meats. The Hot Links were good. The ribs rubbery (that's for boiling them). But, we are from KC, and. . .We're not sure the expansion will live up to any hype. Guy may have done more harm than good.

Just ate lunch here! They are barely open since Guy had them start doing hot food regularly - they used to do only catering... The food was amazing - my husband and I shared the three meat platter with ribs, brisket, and hot links it was a perfect amount for us to share! The hot links were the best!!! They'll be expanding in no time :o)
