I had the Cochinita Pibil from the show. The flavors were nice but the pork was a bit dry when I tried it. The corn tortilla shells also seemed a bit stale and dated. I think this dish definitely had larger potential but just wasn't fresh enough. The side of refried black beans and tomato-chipotle rice was excellent though. My girlfriend had the ribs and beef brisket. The honey-chipotle sauce was the best BBQ sauce she had and I just straight up liked her dish better. Wish I could rate on the BBQ alone but I'm sticking with the food featured in the show. 7.6/10

This has the best barbecue in town. The mac n cheese is also way better than something you can eat in the South. I have been going there ever since I was born. (13 years) They definetly have the best pork!!!

Try Chucks for breakfast. Bloody Marys awsome and banana foster fench toast out of this world. Would not suggest going there on a holiday when they offer family style but can't miss ordering off the menu.

The crab cakes are to die for: shrimp, crab, and andouille cakes with a poblano honey cream sauce. Spicey nice. We could have licked the plate. The Chonchita Pibil was absolutely delicious. Stuffed peppers were good too but not super special. Family like atmosphere and reasonably priced. We'll be back to try some of the chefs other creations (that says a LOT - from a couple that typically cooks at home because we just plain old make better food than most joints).

This place is amazing! We found it with the flavor town app while in Chicago and decided to give it a try. We have a few definate "must trys"... Pulled pork, BBQ brisket and the ribs, all great! The choice of 3 sauces was nice to have. All 3 were good but we prefered the HOT. If you are a mexican lover as well as a chili lover then Chuck's Red is for you!! Spicy with a hint of cilantro, onion and tortillas...(I ordered more to take home, it was soooo good). We also tried the Po-Boy sandwiches. I say, stick with the BBQ! No need to try sandwiches at a BBQ joint. Enjoy! Hurry and go soon... as soon as this airs on TV you'll never get a seat.
