Just had lung at Metro and wa a little disappointed. We had a wait, but only about 15 min (a weekday, but the day after Christmas). My husband had the meatloaf platter but found it pretty salty. I had the Pittsburg salad, and loved the blue cheese and novelty o fries on a salad, but I did not like the flavor of the steak (and I'm a steak fan!). My daughter had the kids scrambled eggs with bacon and home fries and I think she had the best of the lot! The bacon was thick and fabulous and the home fries were crispy and we'll seasoned. Maybe it was just a bad day for our items, but they were the signature dishes shown on the show. Metro is a long drive for us so it's unlikely we'll visit again. Try Culhanes pub instead!

Thanks to Triple D we found this place today. I do believe we will have to eat there every day. My oldest son got the Chicken and Waffles. Comes with a a maple syrup and hot sauce dip...You cant understand the amount of love went into that. My mouth waters thinking about it. The wife got her the Shrimp and Grits. Being from the south, I never thought that I would taste something that turned my southern taste buds on there ends like that. As usual I got a Reuben from a Diner. I almost wasn't able to eat it, because I was eating every body else's lunch. Planned on going back for dinner but they close at 2:30. That is the negative for it if you just got to have a negative.

Delicious! We had a party of 5 and at 10:00am on a Sat we only waited about 15 mins. We were visiting from out of town so we all tried a mix of things. The shrimp and grits were amazing if you like savory but the Yo Hallah took the overall win. It was sweet but has the perfect bit of tartness from the blueberries. Yummy! Ohhh...and yes everyone was right. The staff was extremely friendly..even after I spilt my water all over...lol.

We went here yesterday and the food was awesome. Servers were slammed but still smiling and friendly! The line was down the sidewalk but we were seated really quick. Food was fast and strawberries were super fresh on my waffle. Definitely recommend and would go back!

We ate here for breakfast during a recent visit to Jacksonville. A bit of a wait on the weekend, but not bad. The food was very good and the staff were very nice even though it was so busy. The yohala French toast was great as was the basic eggs, home fries and toast. The only thing I would change is the portions. They are huge!!! And staying at a hotel means we left a good portion of our delicious meal there.

We saw all the positive comments and decided this was the one to try. Wow thanks people it was so good I had the meatloaf and I would never order meatloaf at a restaurant and my husband had the yohala. I just wish they were in Missouri. Service was great!!!! My only suggestion is a sampler platter!

On a trip to visit our kids in Orlando and stopped by to check it out. WOW we loved it. We ordered a grilled ham and cheese with tomato and a stuffed tomato. They were both delicious, fresh and wonderfully served. We were p;easantly surprised when, at the end of our meal, the "busboy" began to chat with us about our meal. It was the owner picking up dishes because they were so busy. Our conversation was amazing and insiteful--about the show and how it has affected the business. Mark said to give him a call the next time we passed thru and he would be sure to greet us. Un heard of friendliness. 5 stars.

A Jacksonville institution, and they have since opened another location in Julington Creek area of Jacksonville. You can't miss with the menu, but be sure to get there early for breakfast or expect a wait. Fried chicken and waffles with strawberry butter are artery clogging heaven. The Yo Hallah on the Square French Toast is a must to try at least once. Any of the Eggs Benedicts are good options. They always have pancake specials with oversized portions, my favorite was the Bananas Fosters Pancake.

In JAX on business. Have eaten at Metro twice, both times for breakfast. First time had the Yo Halla second time San Francisco Eggs Benedict. Both were very good. Service was attentive without being pushy. Enjoyed the Metro. Will probably stop again when back in JAX.

One of the highlights of my recent trip to Jacksonville, was breakfast at The Metro Diner. It was OUTSTANDING!!! It truly was just a local hangout serving FABULOUS food. If you are in J-ville make SURE to look for The Metro!!!

I just visited this Triple D location and they have this huge salad that comes with steak and get this, french fries on top. Served with house made blue cheese dressing. Very yummy.

Breakfast (10 Dollar Pancake, Eggs Benedict, Yo Halla on the Square, Charleston Shrimp, Creamed Chipped Beef and Grits) Lunch (Meatloaf, Pittsburgh Steak Salad) Closed for Dinner There might be a few more menu items, as I typically go only for breakfast.

I eat breakfast at The Metro every morning that I am in town. Love it! Food is always great. Service can get erratic during crush, but always friendly. The owner always says hello. The breakfast pie is one of my faves, but all breaksfast good, though I have never opted for Yo Hala, I guess now that I must.

My family eats at Metro Diner frequently. It is also the spot where we bring out of town guests. They are always surprised with the quality and quantity of the food. For breakfast try one of the omlettes, my favorite is the American Omlette. Lunch, just about everything is good, but the chicken pot pie is really great! It's always crowded there, but you can call ahead to get on the list and park at the school next door, it's easier to navigate than the parking lot.

Went for lunch. Nikki forgot to bring soup before the meal. Our cajun fish wrap was brought with no side, only a pickle spear. She didn't ask if we wanted a side (which we got charged for). Waitress seemed distracted as another server brought the wrap to the table (and didn't question why there was no side). Tomato soup was delicious. Chicken noodle had good flavor, but noodles were mushy. The cajun fish wrap was delicious. Got charged wrong price for the soup. Very noisy. Very crowded. Hardly no parking. Floor was filthy and dirty. Will try another DDD suggestion next time.

We had a great time in Jacksonville visiting all of the places. The folks were very gracious and customer service was excellent. Little did they know that we were the owners of this site, they said that this site has been a big boost to their traffic and the hasn't even aired yet.
