Chino Bandido Takee-Outee has become a cult favorite among foodies in the valley (and around the country!) since its inception in November 1990. Founded by Frank and Eve Collins, who still own and operate the company today

If you're looking for a fancy place, this isn't it. However, I've been here multiple times and was never disappointed. Food is great, staff is nice and service is quick. Jade Red Chicken is the bomb no matter how you order it!
yuck...kids took me here for something different. Well it was different alright. Nasty food, dirty location, and poor service. Sorry Guy, you blew it on this one.
My wife and I love this place and eat here at least twice a month. I grew up in Phoenix and love Mexican and Chinese food. The food here is great and the staff is friendly. The place is always busy. Our favorite is the Jade Red Chicken (Chinese Sweet) and Jamaican Jerk Chicken (Caribbean Heat) with Jerk Fried Rice and Black Beans (Mexican Goodness). My wife also likes the Machaca Beef. The Chile Rellenos aren't bad either. They always give you a great Snickerdoodle for every meal ordered. The trick is to ask for samples before you order, so you can find what suits your taste. Chino Bandido is a fusion of flavors.
Very interesting place. Cool combination of flavors. Good food. The trick is knowing what combinations to order. Get it right and it's delicious, struggle and you'll leave stressed and confused. Best to go with someone who's gone before. Fun place.
COB's? Really?? I was born and raised in west Phoenix. I use to eat at the original Garcias off of 35th Ave and Encanto when it was a shack. Chino's is good. I like their mixture of cultures. I consider COB's a typical tourist trap.
I'm sorry, but Carlos O'Brien's is anything but "odd Mexican fusion". Where on the menu do you see corned beef or boxty? It's a Mexican restaurant with overpriced mediocre food and a large bar, hence the O'Brien's suffix.
Man, I miss this place. I used to work/live around 7th St. and Bell and visited Chino's at least twice a month if not more often. I've since relocated to the SW valley and no Chino's!! Truly unique and wonderful. If I had access to Emerald Chicken for the rest of my life, I'd be a happy person.
My wife and I are visiting Phoenix from Anchorage AK. We love watching triple D and this was are first visit to a flavortown location. It will not be our last we loved it. Thanx Guy for the hook up! :) :-P
You must have ate at the Mexican place next door. I live in Phoenix off the 51 and greenway( yes the same greenway that Chino Bandido is on re corner of ) . You definitely were not at Chino Bandido because their food is awesome. I go at least 4 times a month, hell I went twice this week! Open your eyes to other tastes in life. Meat and potatoes your whole life makes for a boring person.
The best mix of two of my favorite cuisines. You will not be disappointed!
I find it really interesting that so many of the favorable reviews are from peoplebwho dont live in the Phoenix area. Only people who are clueless about mexican food would even begin to like this food. The place is dirty and the food is plain bad. Hate to say it but Guy got hoodwinked. When we saw this episode, we were speechless. Sorry. If you want odd Mexican fusion, try Carlos O'Brien's. Or real Mexican food...just about any place else.
Nice place for no frills..the staff is pleasant, although dressed in their goth garb is a turn-off. The food is quite tasty and the fusion factor is great, although the portions of meat are extremely small and the quesadilla barely had any filling. Servings were quite exagerated on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
This place is great for the novelty factor alone. The food tastes decent, and the combination of Mexican and Chinese in the same dish is winning. Staff is also very friendly and helpful in figuring out the confusing ordering system and giving you foods to sample to help you decide. And I loved the free snickerdoodles...delicious!
Don't know what the big deal was here, a high priced bowl of rice with some flavourless meat. Couldn't put enough soy sauce on it to try and get some flavor out of it. Save your money and go somewhere you might know what the food tastes like. Like maybe McDonalds??
Not my favorite place to eat. I've got a friend who insists on eating here when in town. The only thing I've enjoyed here is the Jade Red Chicken, the Snickerdoodles and Volcano Cookies. Everything else, not so much. Food is not consistent between visits. On the bright side, the staff is very friendly and patient in explaining the menu and ordering process, as well as answering questions. They do an excellent job of delivering service.
It maybe cheap but it also tastes cheap. This place is dirty how do they pass ahealth inspection.
Great value! Loved the red jade chicken and something that looked like jamaican fried rice! Burp! Totally forgot that I was on a diet! A little remorseful but I got over it - it was totally worth it. Oh yeah, get the souvenier T-shirt. I wear mine proudly! If you don't know what to get, just ask them to surprise you with their most popular dishes. Can't go wrong! Great staff!
I never thought one could make a bad Chili Rellano but Chino Bandido proved me wrong. The chili was "breaded" with saltine crackers. The crakers apparently form an impenetrable barrier against oil/heat because the chili was completely raw. To top it off the fried rice was so bad that I spit it out immediately.
Discovered Chino Bandido 13 years ago and have been totally addicted ever since!! Love everything, but my fave is the TJ Veggie Quesadilla! Staff is friendly and make the experience complete.
I have to eat there every time I am in town. When i was growing up in Phoenix I must've eaten there at least once a month. My wife and in-laws were hooked on their first visit. I recommend going on a saturday when they are serving volcano cookies.
My family and I are in town for the 2010 Fiesta Bowl and decided to visit one of the famous restaurants Guy Fieri has visited. I can't tell you how much we enjoyed Chino Bandido. Yum Yum!!!! I had the carnitas quesadilla and emerald chicken with chicken fried rice and my husband had the jerk chicken and jade red chicken. We also decided to try the mechaca quesadilla. They were all very good and the staff was great and very accommodating. Definitely going back before we return to Cali.
The Husband & I LOVE Chino Bandido. I had seen it on an episode while we were living out East & made it a MUST TRY when we moved to the Phoenix area. It's unique & quite tasty. The staff is very helpful.
Staff was very helpful and asked if it was our first time there. They gave samples of all their selections to find out what we like. I had the red chicken and jerk chicken with black beans and pork fried rice. Both had alot of flavor. Very good. My friend had the emerald chicken and she enjoyed that. I would recommend it for a unique place to go and try. Very different from what we have in Texas. Sheri D
