We had never been to Charlotte before and were excited to see the town and hit some DD&D spots this past weekend (Jan. 25-26, 2014). We hit BBQ King for Friday night's dinner and was not disappointed. Dish was our Saturday evening meal and our expectations were high. The great: Their collard dip was a fantastic appetizer and the zucchini soup was a really yummy side item. Both of those come highly recommended. For our meals we chose the Pot Roast and the Chili Lime Flank Steak (the 1st and 2nd most recommended items on the menu respectively, were we told by our waitress). The Pot Roast was pretty good. My wife liked it better than I did. I thought it tasted much like a number of other pot roasts I've had elsewhere. Neither of us thought the flank steak was all that special and I wish I had tried another dish. So, would we go back there? If we were local and could walk to the restaurant, I think it would be a place we would probably frequent every so often, but I don't think either of us would go way out of our way to eat there again. I say that, of course, not having tried their dumplings or meatloaf- either of which may have been way better than what we got.

The Dish restaurant was an abosolute delight! Our server's name was Sasha and she was friendly, informative, and fun. The food was delicious and the atmosphere quaint. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

I've been to dish and walked out. As I walked up to the door the cook was sitting outside in the back smoking a cigarette. The cooks and waitress looked dirty. I will never go there again. It was nothing like I saw on TV. I walked over to the penguin and had a really good meal. Also, the atmosphere was great.

My wife and I ate there this past weekend. She had Chicken and Dumplings and I had the Country Fried Steak. Both items were wonderful as well as the vegetables. To top it off, we had the chocolate pecan pie. All I can say is two thumbs up. As a side note, The Penquin is only a minute away by foot.

The potato parmesan cakes were one of the best appetizers I had in a long time! And best be hungry for their main meals! From a Canadian's point of view, this was a great taste of American diner food!

We've been to Dish twice- and I hope to eat there every time I visit Charlotte! We loved the collard dip, even though we're not really collard fans. The squash casserole is amazing- as were the fried green tomatoes. We've enjoyed the pork chops, which are fork-tender, the chicken & dumplings, & the salmon patties. All of them were delicious! The service is fast & friendly. This place is everything a Southern Restaurant should be.

Outstanding restaurant! Service was excellent and only surpassed by the food. Can't say enough about the Pot Roast. Tender and tasty, I had to fight the others from stealing it off my plate. Other entrees were also superb - chicken salad and the salmon patties. Next time in Charlotte, don't miss this place. I know that I'll be back.
