Simple food done well. My wife and I had the special: 1/2 sandwich/soup combo with side salad. It also came with potato chips and cornbread. At most places, the ham is chewy and tough. Here, it was delicate and juicy. My wife delighted in her chicken salad sandwich. We bot had the white bean soup, which was hearty, yet balanced. The cornbread was different in that it had a lot of honey in the batter- not bad. The chips were out of a bag, but so what? It was a solid meal. The price will prohibit me from making a habit of this place, but I'm excited for another chance to go back and try the Hawaiian Burger or BBQ.

Don't Bother,, Stopped by on 5-27-14,, The food is mediocre, and that's being kind. There was Kale on the menu, but it was out of a can, as well as the rest of the veggies. The Meat Loaf was mostly bread, and very very dry. How this place was chosen to be on DD&D is beyond me.

Stopped in today, poor guy was by himself. Meatloaf and baked steak were delicious. And the corn bread was outstanding. The temperatures weren't hot enough, but the owners son was alone due to call off. I'm not going to hold it against them. Next time down here will give them another chance. Want to try their hot ham and cheese it sounds good.

Central City Cafe is in an out of the way location where I'd normally wouldn't go looking for a restaurant. The menu is rather simple, just basic comfort food-type dishes. My wife and I each tried a meatloaf sandwich. It was very good, moist and definitely with a homecooked feel... wholly unlike the meatloaf I grew up eating. (Sorry, Mom.) I was hoping to try their white bean chili, but it was out of season. Not being able to get the chilli was my only disappointment and I got over that pretty quickly. Actually, I was over my disappointment as soon as the meatloaf arrived. Our server was enthusiatic and friendly, and we had a pleasant conversation with one of the owners.
