A must stop. Who knew Smack n cheese could taste that good. Pulled pork a big thumbs up. Very friendly and polite. Dessert was a MUST! I thought their was going to be a fork fight! Thanks Guy for finding this place. Worth the 10 min walk from L.A.'s downtown. (During the day)

I got here about 6:30 and there was a wait so I went to my concert and returned about 10:15pm. Boy am I glad I did. The atmosphere suits any need. A couple romantically sharing a bottle of wine, college kids in the middle of a night on the town, or a multi generational family enjoying a great meal. My server, Cher, was the best!! My Catfish with Pecan sauce and corncakes with brussel sprout hash was soo good. The catfish was mild with the perfect amount of seasoning and the corn cakes were surprisingly light! The pecan sauce was a bit of an afterthought but went well with the veggies. I'm not sure what was hash-like about the brussel sprouts. Mine were cut in half and sauted with lemon and no bacon, but I enjoyed them with the pecan sauce. Can't wait to come back!

The food was excellent, the atmosphere very friendly. We ate about 7:30 p.m. The staff made these east coasters feel right at home. We had the Double Stuffed Chicken, and the Catfish with Corn Cakes and Pecan Sauce. Both were excellent. For desert we had the Red Velvet Cake and the Tapioca Pudding. Once again excellent. I would highly recommend this dining experience for anyone visiting or living in the LA area.

The food was very good and the service was excellent. We started with the bacon doughnut (good but a little dry?), then the pisole (outstanding!), burger with onion rings (very good) and smack&cheese (excellent!) If we were in town longer we'd go back for breakfast. (They have Vegan selections too)

Great food, service was awesome and the bacon doughnuts were delicious... rich... heavy, but delicious. I will be going back (and I live 25 miles away).

I ordered the Chili burger; it was good, but nothing special. But my mom loved her grilled veggie sandwich. Both of us loved the Velvet Cake. What's more important, the price was right
