Went with three friends on our way through Oklahoma. Staff was really nice and caring and very helpful with the menu. Had the Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich; it was so good! Others had the Santa Fe Burger, Beef Burrito, Chili and Southside burger and they liked theirs just as well. Chili was excellent of you like chili without beans. Definitely a diamond in the rough. Wouldn't believe it when you first walk in! Be prepared to smell like a greasy spoon diner after :-\

We had breakfast there yesterday morning. The Kitchen Sink (cook's choice) omelet was wonderful with a mix of bacon, green pepper, mushroom, tomato and olives. The 2 eggs/2pancakes/2meat plate was similarly great. Eggs over easy were done just right and the yolks were intact, blueberry pancakes were FULL of plump blueberries, and the bacon was done to perfection, not too crisp. Coffee was plentiful and tasty. They do have their own website, now: http://normandiner.com/HOME.ht...

We were in Norman and were just looking for a hole in the wall joint and stumbled across The Diner. We noticed a sign on the door that they were going to be on Triple D for the first time that night. We had no idea. We ate a wonderful breakfast there. Since then we have also been to Aldo's in Santa Cruz, CA and hope to visit many more.

ive also traveled extensively and the truth is the truth! i have LIVED in the ok city metro for 18 years and the service and most of the time the food also is lacking in flavor and they only seem to put large servings on for "show" when DDD comes around... to get more customers to come, then back to business as usual after the show is gone..and something ive noticed in OKlahoma over the years is all the hoola *here* about oklahoma this and that but in reality ive lived all over the country and overseas and its well below par here as well as the negative attitudes and the "i could give a *amn whether you like it or not* attitude from the people serving or making the food..if the shoe fits, wear it?

no doubt!! i have lived in oklahoma for the past 18 years and thats EXACTLY the kind of service i get at 95% of the places we go to eat, i am not joking and i dont care who does or does not like what i have to say about it.. its the truth..there are very few places with great food AND good service, let alone GREAT service in oklahoma city metro area..i dont know bout the small towns but OKC needs to get a much better attitude! and if you dont like it, look around next time youre out to eat & just be quiet and observe... makes me SO homesick for the true south, back home in louisiana where the people are friendly AND the food is awesome with flavor..

Obviously, Racer's team lost in this university town of the Oklahoma Sooners. That's bad about college towns, it's hard to see the IHOP and Denny's signs which is the pinnacle of a well traveled man's breakfast. I agree with Big Jack... best Breakfast burritos are in Santa Fe NM... CA has nothing on them.
wow, how rude. I believe you could have said you didn't like the food without insulting the people from oklahoma. I've traveled quite extensively and some of the best food I've ever eaten was in oklahoma. One doesn't have to be well traveled to appreciate what they like.

I've been to the Diner at least a hundred times over the years. There is nothing fancy about the place, but the food is great and affordable. What is interesting is that I have never tried their famous chili. Amspacher does a great job with this place in my opinion. Keep up the good work, Mark! I'll be glad to stand in line for one of your fantastic omellettes.

I have visited a number of Guy's featured spots, but this is way overrated. Maybe if you have never been out of Oklahoma, you would never know that there are better places to eat, but the breakfast items are nothing special. It is not worth the stop.

Be prepared for a wait but it's worth it. The Eggarito was awesome and a taste explosion. Can't wait to go back!!!

On a Thanksgiving visit to Norman, we went to the Diner after seeing Guy's pitch. Since chili was supposed to be a feature item, I ordered the Frito chili pie. When it arrived there was a little dab of chili in the middle of a pile of Fritos on the plate. When I asked the waitress if it wasn't a little weak on the chili, she stated "I ran out of chili" and turned heel and walked off. No alternative was offered. She started out with an attitude and it didn't get better. Maybe they got too much publicity. They sure won't get any future business from me or my Norman friends and relatives. BTW my wife had more chili on her chili burger than I had on my chips.

I loved the Diners, drive-ins and dives on last nights program. i go thru Oklahoma City 2 to 3 times a year and will definitely try The Diner on Main Street. the food looked wonderful. cannot wait to try it! I live in New Mexico where the green chili grows and per the show, the chef or cook makes some good green chili stew with chili's from Albuquerque where i have lived for 40 years. Keep up the good tips and places to go Guy. you are one of my favorite programs with Guys Big Bites. Thank You!
