I went to Fred's just for drinks with friends, and the atmosphere was so fun I took my family back the next day for lunch. Everything we ordered, from grilled cheese for our kids to burgers and fries for us, were really greasy. I'll probably go back sometime for drinks, but not the food.

I would never sit there and let some waiter act as if I was invisible. I don't care what color you are rude is rude. A calm request to speak to the manager or owner ought to do the trick. NO scene no acrimony...just a request for better service.! You can only be a victim if you let it happen.

I will have to say "Fred's is the Bomb"! Have become a big fan of Fred's Texas Cafe"! The burgers are great, loved the Sunday breakfast brunch, and the Spicy Bloody Mary's with a pickled okra on top were exelent. The place is always crowded but the friendly wait staff and atmosphere will keep me coming back for years to come! The little family owned dinner is a step back in time surrounded by a growing bustling city. Everyone truly is your friend at Fred's!

You and your husband can go back to Mexico if you don't like how your treated here. See how you like it there. No one is keeping you here. Leave!!

To second "Hispanic" at Fred's ill beleive it when I see it.

Well, I'm hispanic and the service was excellent!

I am sitting at the Cafe now waited an hour and a half for my burger. Asked the workers about it they said it usually takes this long. The booths around me have changed patrons at least twice. I can only come to one conclusion my husband and myself are about the only Hispanics in the restaurant. Also, we are sitting right next to the drink station and not once in the twenty times they have passed or restocked have they offered to refill our teas. Except right at the end. I guess they were hoping we would leave. Racism is still alive and well in Cow Town especially here in Fred's Texas Cafe. If you are Hispanic don't expect good service or any at all.

Fred's is amazing!  Their food is absolutely divine, but I recommend splitting the burgers.  They are huge!  The music is just the right volume and the singers are usually outstanding.  The beer is inexpensive and ice cold.  Also, they have a fantastic covered patio that is great in the spring and the fall.

Best burger ever! I will go back time and time again to Fred's! I thoroughly enjoyed my 26th birthday there and could not think of a better place to have it. We had a blast and the atmosphere was fun. To top it all off, I fell in love with their burgers! Check it out!!!

The burgers are the best.  Every time we have someone new in town we are here and having the coldest beer, and loving it.

Saw the show had to go. Just another greasy spoon burger join. The service is slow. I ordered tacos because you can get a burger anyplace. Get yourself some Costco cheese, and a head of iceberg lettuce, add a bland bit of chicken and two tortillas, BAM you have a Fred's chicken taco. The lamb stew you saw on the clip is seasonal Oct. to March. The exotic fair is grilled mushrooms... if you want want them on your burger. Thirty bucks for two lunches with a single beer each. Oh yea the fries were soft serve.  Good Luck.

fred's is as much about the experience as it is the food...and BOTH are fabulous! the best burgers in town, chicken fried steak that melts, yes melts, in your mouth and their fries are the best i've had anywhere. they also make a killer bloody mary! if you're in the metroplex...make time for fred's!

Great hand-cut fries. Quesadilla was good as well.

Diablo burger was unique and had great flavor.  The ribeye was huge and well cooked.  This is a "Dive" I would return to.  We sat inside, but could see that a great time out at the picnic tables awaits weather permitting.

the best, oh how i miss it

Fred's was the best!!!  We had the ribeye with the chipolte/onion sauted in beer over the top of the steak for dinner. It was one of the best steaks I have ever had. Freds has great character and we cannot wait to make a trip back to Ft. Worth so we can eat at Fred's again. Which will be probably in a coupl,e weeks for the Ft. Worth RV show.....

Decent burger but not great.  This place is close to the Botanic Gardens and zoo in Ft Worth but in an industrial area.  The place has character but is basically a bar done up with picnic tables outside.  The food was okay but his is not a place I would come back to.
