I live about an hour away in Athens Ohio and as soon as I saw it on the show I told my buddy we had to go! I took the home wrecker challenge. Nailed it! 11min! I said if I was paying 12 bucks for a hotdog I was leaving with a shirt. Tip: use the bun to sop up the toppings on the plate. Love the place! There's soooo much to see! Anyone that knocks the decor obviously has a giant stick up their @**. Which if they ever had removed I'm sure would be a welcome addition to the place!

This was our 11th Triple āDā stop. The Hillbilly Dog and the fried pickle spears were pretty good. The atmosphere really makes the place. Walking around looking at the "junk" was interesting. We were thinking about the "Home Wrecker" but my wife and I decided we wouldn't be able to eat it all. There was a couple who ordered it and man is that thing a whopper!

As hot dog places go, Hillybilly Hot Dogs has some interesting homemade toppings for their dogs. Food-wise its nothing special. But people really come here for the visual circus. The grounds are cluttered with an amusing collection of junk, err, discarded Americana. We enjoyed wandering around looking at all of the... err, stuff. And the staff perfomes different routines whenever different things happen. For example, they'll sing a song whenever a customer leaves a tip.

I live approximately an hour away from Hillbilly Hot Dogs. I'm not a snob, but the "dining room" is really kind of gross. As far as the food goes, I can make killer sauce at home and load up a hot dog, as most folks can. If I am going to eat a "memorable" hot dog, I want a big frank that is bursting with flavor on a homemade roll, not a regular dog on a regular bun with a bunch of stuff on it. It just isn't that impressive.

The hubby took the homewrecker challenge. He had about 3 bites left when he ran out of time. When we go back he will heed the recommendation of one of the patrions watching him... he will, stand up and shake it down, son. We loved Sharie and sang her song along with her, whenever she got a tip. The hotdogs were good, the decor was one of a kind. My sister would not touch anything. The kids absolutely loved it and still sing the song a year later. We signed our name on the lower right window payne. We will definately be back on a weekend trip.

This is a nasty rotton crap hole, if you want to spend the night on the toilet eat here

This one definitely qualified as a "dive" -- but it is OH-SO-WORTH the trip!! Sharie is personable, and obviously loves what she does here. The food was incredible, and we were definitely ready for a change from seafood <which we have eaten for like the past week!>. One slight correction to the address -- it is 6951 Ohio River Road <not 6591>. If you get the chance, VISIT THIS ONE FOR SURE!

Stopped in on my way to Pennsylvania, and this place is crazy, the way it's decorated. I got the taco dog, which was awesome, the West Virginia dog, which was very good, and the tater bacon egger dog which wasn't a hot dog. It has a long tater tot in shape of a hot dog. I was disappointed in that one. I wish it had a real hot dog with the tots on top, along with the bacon and egg.

There's another Hillbilly Hot Dogs right near Marshall University in Huntington and it's the one I go to whenever I'm even remotely near the Tri-State area. It has the same charm as their original location and the food is unbelievable. I always have to get an original Hillbilly Dog because the combination of deep fried dog, chili, mustard, and onions really hits the spot. Plus their fries are the extra crispy and stay extra crispy even smothered with cheese sauce. Pretty much every dog on the menu is unique and tasty. Oh yeah and you won't break the bank when you go, even if you have a huge craving for some good dogs. Wish they had one down here where I am because I'd be there every day for lunch.
