Great, Fresh tasting food. We had the Tamales and the Burrito. Both were great, and the Burrito is Huge. Would highly recommend.

I'm originally from Southern California, although I've lived all over the southwest and Lonestar Taqueria's fish tacos are the best- no one else even comes close! We come here every time we're in Utah, I only wish there was one closer to me.

Visiting Salt Lake City Utah for Aflac Business. We always try to get in some fun in while we are traveling. Searched for Diner's Drive-ins and Dives in the Salt Lake area... "Lone Star Taqueria" was the first on the list.... I love Mexican food... we are Texans's!! we eat Mexican Food daily... THis was EXCELLENT! Such a Great Experience. 3 different kinds of HotSauce! I had one of the Specials "Mario Plato" it was Off the HOOK! Small inside dining but was very comfortable... outside dining was a little cool setting at the base of the mountains. I will definitely eat here again.. probably before I leave Utah...

Lone Star Taqueria is known for its unique decor, delicious food, and fun atmosphere. The Carne Adovada(marinated hot pork) and the Fish Tacos are staples at Lone Star. However everything on the menu is really amazing, from the Carne Desebrada(Shredded Beef) to the Carnitas( roasted pork). Don't forget the salsa's and guacamole, they are to die for. I salute Lone Star rocking it out!
We ate there on July 10, 2009 during a pit stop on our family road trip from CO to CA. We were spending that night in SLC, so we thought we should try to check out Lone Star Taqueria while we had the chance. It intrigued us when we watched the DDD episode. It was very busy when we arrived at about 2pm. We had to park in a public library's parking lot about a block away. The restaurant itself is tiny. The patio seating more than doubles the capacity, though. The decor is quirky/funky, the type of place hipsters in Sarah Palin glasses and ironic western shirts flock to. Everyone was friendly and laid-back. We ordered fish tacos, carnita tacos, nachos with everything, a carnitas burrito with green chili, and quesadillas for our little kids (fearing the spice). Everything came out looking great and we dug in. The green chili was too spicy for me, and I consider myself to be tough in that department. The pork in the taco was very dry, but tasted okay. The fish taco was excellent, according to my husband. The kids loved the nachos, and so did I. The guacamole had chopped jalepenos, which made it too spicy for most and that was disappointing. Quesadillas were fine. It's very hard to mess up quesadillas. Burrito was enormous, so we split it up.

We ate here in February 2010. It was a truly funky joint but the food rocked. Check out the review we wrote up: http://www.saturdaynightfoodies.com/2010/02/salt-lake-city-moochies-meatballs.html
