We had never been to Charlotte before and were excited to see the town and hit some DD&D spots this past weekend (Jan. 25-26, 2014). Got the BBQ Chicken and it was fantastic. Best item of the weekend. My wife and I both agreed that a meal of their BBQ Chicken with the side items from "Dish," would have been perfect. Service was fast. Highly recommended.

We love this place, we've been several times since we saw this and have never been disappointed with our food. They know how to do it and do it right every time. It still amazes me that such a small kitchen pushes out such big food! If you haven't been yet this is another must go...of course you know I've had the fried livers right!

Best BBQ I have ever had

Go here quite often now after seeing them on Foodnetwork. As a self declared expert on Southern Cuisine, this stuff is good! Can't go here too often because their bbq chicken is fried to perfection and will make my blood pressure act up. (It is worth a splurge at least once a week for me) It is more of a salty bbq sauce unlike what I'm accustomed to most. I think because of that, it is what makes it unforgettable. The sauce is "to die for". I always order the smaller 1/4 plate which is perfect! Old drive in diner style set up. If your car speaker doesn't work, don't worry, they see you and will get to you during their constantly busy atmosphere. I've even tried the BBQ and enjoy that too. If you're looking for something authentic, this is your stop. You won't forget it.

Best onion rings in Charlotte

Don't bother. We ordered the BBQ Plate and asked for two forks to share. The server was rude and we got one fork and one napkin. The french fries were from bagged frozen and were on the verge of soggy. The hushpuppies were smelled and tasted like they were fried in the same oil as their fried fish. The coleslaw was terrible and inedible. The bbq was okay, but just. We ordered some onion rings also and they, like the fries, were on the verge of soggy. This place was VERY disappointing.

Great bbq chicken. Very unique. Everything else was average.

Ate here in July 09, not sure what I was getting into when I drove up. The "BBQ" chicken was fried chicken dipped in BBQ sauce. I was not disaapointed. The chicken was hot and moist; the sauce was tasty, this isn't your ordinary BBQ and was really, really good!

You order through the speaker, not to someone coming to your car. Not sure where you were, but it was not BBQ King.

I was very excited about visiting this drive-in while in Charlotte. My husband and I were not impressed. We gave the guy that came out to the car our order for barbeque chicken dinners twice because he was not listening. Then he came out with our dinners to go but forgot what I ordered to drink. Then when he gave us our change I went to hand it to my husband and he stuck his head in my car and said where's my tip? The rudest guy ever. Then once we got back to the hotel we realized that we had gotten plain fried chicken which was not that good. The potato salad and cole slaw was very good and we didn't have to wait long. But in the future I would not plan a trip out of my way to go to another restaurant on theis tv show. Even though I still love Guy.

I really like pork sandwiches & was looking forward to one since it was featured on the show. Although I like fried chicken, I usually don't order it much, so my wife got it. About halfway through my sandwich, I tried some. The sandwich was good although I have had better. But the chicken---WOW!!! The sauce really set it off, and it was still somewhat crispy. It was a good thing my wife couldn't finish all she got, after I finished my sandwich, I savored what was left of the chicken. Hopefully we will get back here someday, we still smack our lips when we talk about it. We will BOTH be getting the BBQ chicken! The staff was also very friendly. It was the ultimate DDD experience!!! Can I buy a few more stars to add?
