I made a detour to try this restaurant for Sunday lunch on my way to Dallas. I had the fried chicken with green beans and baked squash. The service was great, the food was good, the squash was outstanding. I highly recommend the baked squash!

Me and my wife stopped there for our lunch, while heading back to Tulsa. It's a really easy place to find, with ample parking. We stopped there on a Sunday, and it was busy. I had the chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans and salad. My wife had the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans and baked squash. The chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak was excellent. I fell in love with the baked squash!!! The service was great, for how busy it was... Highly recommend... Will be visiting that place again for sure!!!!!

My husband and I had dinner here last night. Traveling from NY back home to AZ. This was our third DDD place so far. Food was good. I had Chicken Fried Steak and Hubby had Chicken and Stuffing. Waitress, Jennifer was really sweet and attentive. 11/29/12

We stopped here on our way home from the Grand Canyon. Loved all the food. We each tried something different so we could try a little of everything. Loved the pot roast and chicken with cornbread stuffing best. Very friendly and great prices.summer 2012

Ate at Clanton's on Monday May 2, 2011.  On our way from Central Iowa, to a Christian Men's Conference in SE Oklahoma.  My friend had the chicken fried steak while I had the chicken and stuffing.  We also tried the calf fries... umm... well, we tried the calf fries.  Food was great!  Service was great!  Got a chance to visit with the owner for about 5 minutes after paying our bill.  Overall, GREAT experience!!  Did I mention, we tried the calf fries?

Stopped by on our way through Oklahoma. Neat little place. Good service from a friendly waitress. It was obvious we were not locals, as most of the other patrons seemed to know each other. The food was good, but good as most places are. Nothing really stood out.

Easy to find, no wait when we got there.  Asked the locals what they recommended and everyone said Chicken fried steak.  Thats what we ordered and it was awesome.  Tried the calf fries, not much flavor, they were tender, not chewy like I thought they would be.  They won't tell you what they are until you try them, so, ask someone what they are first.  I heard the coconut cream pie is fantastic, I was too full to have any.  We went to this place on our way to Dallas, hit 2 more places on the way back home.  YUMMO....thanks Guy for the foot work on these places.

I had the chicken fried steak on Saturday, October 9, 2010.  It was about noon and the diner was very busy with many locals (that greeted each other warmly) and few of us passing through.  The chicken fried steak was good as well as the mashed potatoes and green beans.  I didn't think they were exceptional, though.  The peach cobbler, however, was excellent.  The waitress warmed it and put a dip of vanilla ice cream on top. What is exceptional is the service.  The best example of a whole team of people working together to serve the customer quickly and efficiently!  Many business could learn from them.  While they were busy bees, they also would spend a few minutes with you in casual conversation is that what you wanted.  One of the owners working in the kitchen delivered my entree when it was ready as my waitress was busy with another customer at the time. Dirty dishes were cleared as soon as they were empty.  Ice tea glass refilled as soon as it was half full. The other owner visited with many of the locals that had come in for lunch.  A PURE EXAMPLE OF HOW TO RUN A BUSINESS IN A SMALL COMMUNITY!

Don't miss the chicken friend steak! They may be famous for the chicken and stuffing, but the CFS is the real star.

Clanton's was a great place to go! We drove a bit out of the way but the food was good, home town atmosphere. We did not try the calf fries, =-O  But the whole family enjoyed the food, chicken fried steak was wonderful. Lots of local people were enjoying the food too, it was pretty busy but great service.

I lived in Oklahoma 30 years ago and passed by this place at least a dozen times without stopping.  My loss!  The food was everything Guy said it would be.  Portions were huge to start with, and on Sundays Dennis adds a roll and desert for free.  If you can get past what they are, the Calf Fries are worth the risk!  The food was great, and Dennis and his employees were super friendly!

My wife and I are huge Triple D fans, we love to cook for friends/family and we are always driving to try new places to eat. On our recent trip to Missouri we decided to detour into Vinita to try Clanton's Cafe. Sad to report that we were really disappointed with this choice. Being from Texas, we have both eaten chicken fried steak in many restaurants and would put the chicken fried steak from Clanton's in the bottom 5 of any we have eaten before. The mashed potatoes did not taste good, the corn was either reheated from the previous day or of the cheap value type and the green beans tasted the same way. We normally don't complain about food to others but felt this warning may be of some value to those that may be looking to go out of their way to try this meal. With all of the good food we have watched on Triple D we simply cannot believe that this cafe made the cut.

Since I knewmy parents and I were going to be driving through OK, we made a special point to stop at Clanton's for lunch since we are fans of DDD. My parents had the chicken fried steak and I had the chicken and dressing and it was all fantastic! My dad loves chicken fried steak and he said it's the best he's ever had! We had a great meal and if we're ever in the area again, I'd love to stop back by!

Stopped in for a late lunch (or early supper), still a little full from a late breakfast. We were thinking we would be taking some home with us, but it was so good, we went ahead and finished it all!!! I got the chicken fried steak, and Teresa had the chicken & dressing. We are planning another trip around this way on the motorcycle!
